1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FreeMC.Host, including the website freemc.host, the dashboard (dash.freemc.host), the control panel (panel.freemc.host), the status page (status.freemc.host) and every game server we provide (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
- You sign in with your Discord account. When you sign in, your Discord account is also added to the FreeMC.Host Discord server; you can leave it at any time.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details (including your control panel password) secret and for all activity under your account, including actions taken by subusers you invite.
- Each person may have one account. You must not create additional accounts to get around resource limits, bans, suspensions or other restrictions.
3. The free service
FreeMC.Host is free. There are no paid plans, upgrades or hidden costs. Each account can run one server with the resources shown on our website when you create it, currently:
- 3 GB RAM, 5 GB storage and a share of one CPU core (1 vCPU);
- up to 3 backups and 1 MySQL database per server;
- server types Paper, Vanilla, Forge, Fabric, NeoForge and Bedrock.
The free service does not entitle you to specific hardware, a specific location, a fixed number of players or a fixed set of features. To keep the Service free and fair for everyone, we may change resources, features or locations. Where a change noticeably affects your server, we will try to tell you in advance on the website, in the dashboard or on Discord.
4. Running and offline servers
Your server keeps running as long as players use it. If no player has been online for 24 hours, it is stopped automatically to free resources for others; your world and files stay untouched and you can start it again at any time in the control panel. To keep the platform stable, we may stop servers for maintenance, when the machine is overloaded or as described in section 6; you can start them again afterwards.
While a server is offline, players who try to join it see a short message from FreeMC.Host saying that the server is offline, how the owner can start it, and that free servers are available at freemc.host.
5. Acceptable use
Your server is meant for hosting a game server and the tools that directly belong to it. You must not use the Service to:
- store, share or distribute illegal content, or content that infringes the rights of others;
- distribute malware, run phishing pages or send spam;
- attack, scan or disrupt other systems, including DDoS attacks, port scanning and brute-force attempts, or run botnet software;
- mine cryptocurrency or run other workloads that are unrelated to the game server;
- operate proxies, VPNs, tunnels, remote-control tools, public file hosting or similar services unrelated to your game server;
- try to bypass resource limits, access other users' servers or harm our infrastructure;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against other people, or share any content that sexualises minors.
6. Automated abuse protection
To protect the Service and its users, our systems automatically check running servers for abuse, for example programs running on the server, outgoing network connections and traffic, CPU usage and files such as plugins, mods and executables.
- If we detect clear abuse (for example a crypto miner, a proxy or tunnel, a botnet or a program hidden in the server files), the server is stopped immediately and our team is notified.
- If abuse is detected again within 24 hours, the server is suspended. Suspended servers cannot be started.
- Less clear cases are reviewed by our team before any action is taken.
If you believe your server was stopped or suspended by mistake, contact us on Discord and we will review it.
7. Minecraft and third-party content
FreeMC.Host is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with Mojang AB or Microsoft. "Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang AB. By running a Minecraft server, you agree to follow the Minecraft EULA and the Minecraft Usage Guidelines.
The control panel lets you install plugins, mods and tools from third-party sources such as Modrinth, Poggit and GeyserMC (for example Bedrock crossplay with Geyser and Floodgate, or Simple Voice Chat). This content is made by third parties and is subject to their own licenses and terms. We are not responsible for third-party content or its behaviour.
8. Your content
You keep all rights to the worlds, configurations, plugins and other files you upload or create ("Your Content"). You give us a limited permission to store, copy and process Your Content only as far as necessary to operate the Service, for example to run your server, create backups, install the software you choose in the control panel or check it for abuse (section 6).
To keep the platform stable and fast for everyone, we may adjust technical settings of servers that affect performance, for example how often the world is saved, as long as this does not change how the game plays.
You are responsible for having the rights to everything you upload, and for keeping your own copies of important data.
9. Availability and backups
We aim to keep the Service available around the clock, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, hardware failures, network problems or attacks can cause downtime. You can see the current status and past incidents at status.freemc.host.
You can create up to 3 backups per server in the control panel. We are not obligated to keep backups of Your Content. Download important backups regularly.
10. Advertising
FreeMC.Host is financed by advertising. The dashboard and the control panel show ads, including a short ad screen with a few seconds of waiting time before a server is started. Ads are shown in separate frames and have no access to your account or servers. You are never required to click an ad. Our public website at freemc.host shows no ads.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your server or account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. Where reasonable, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Banned users may not create new accounts.
You can stop using the Service and delete your server or account at any time in the dashboard. After an account or server is deleted, the associated data is permanently removed and cannot be restored.
12. Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided free of charge "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
13. Limitation of liability
Because the Service is provided free of charge, we are, to the extent permitted by law, only liable for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, loss of profits or loss of in-game progress.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, in particular liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will announce material changes in advance on the website, in the dashboard or on Discord. If you continue to use the Service after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
